starting my day with listening

Lately, I wake up as the sun rises. I don’t set an alarm, but my body just knows. My eyes open and the day has started.

  • I go brush my teeth
  • I take my supplements
  • I weigh myself
  • I grab my earbuds
  • I walk out of the house
  • I track my walk on my watch
  • I listen to an audiobook
  • I do pull-ups at the playground
  • I take my 15 second video of mission peak
  • I walk back home

Each step, I am mindful and in the moment.

Every word, I listen with care and thought: If I ever catch myself thinking about other things and drifting my thoughts, I go back to my breath, my steps, and the words. I rewind my audiobook and re-listen and begin again.

This practice really made me enjoy these books and really apply them deeply to my life. I am in the moment and not listening to books for any goal or for competition with anyone.

I listen to listen.

I walk to walk.

I breathe to breathe.

I live to live.
